Dr. Jarrett H. Walden, Dr. Colin T. Strub, Dr. Kathryn Mentzer, and Dr. Thomas Marshall are focused on you as a person. They will ask lots of questions about your life, hobbies, and treatment goals. Then they will develop a unique care plan, one that addresses your clinical and personal needs.
As a family-friendly dental office, our doctors and team members believe in caring for you as we would a member of our family. We serve the dental needs of everyone in the family, from toddlers through parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.

For us, dental care is about helping our friends and neighbors develop their healthiest, best smiles. We love what we do and it shows!
Our History
We’ve been serving our community since 1978, when Dr. Hudson J. Powell founded the practice. Sharing the same commitment to exceptional, family-friendly care, Dr. Walden joined Dr. Powell in 2008. Dr. Powell built the practice reputation as a friendly, happy, and supportive environment that also happens to take care of a family’s dental needs. He was a gentle, kind-spirited gentleman who always put others before himself. Sadly, Dr. Powell passed in 2013.
In January 2015, Dr. Joseph Griffin merged his practice to ours, where he, his staff, and patients joined Southern Family Dental Group. His patients and staff quickly became part of our dental family. Sadly, Dr. Griffin passed away August 2019. He is missed by our staff and his patients, but we are so fortunate we’re able to continue providing care to his patients.
We strive every day to embody the same compassionate and selfless characteristics of Dr. Powell and Dr. Griffin, and keep their memory alive in our hearts and acts. We continue to provide gentle dental care for the whole family and maintain an office that feels like a home.
